Pathway to
Middle-Class Jobs
in Indonesia
The design work for the World Bank Group event will focus on creating a unified visual identity that reflects the organization’s core values of sustainability, development, and global collaboration. Indonesia created 2.4 million jobs annually from 2009-2019, but struggles to create middle-class jobs. Only 15% of income earners earn enough for a middle-class lifestyle due to low productivity, a small informal firm sector, and skills gaps. To improve, Indonesia needs to boost productivity, shift workers to higher-paying sectors, and enhance education and training. The COVID-19 crisis presents both a challenge and an opportunity for recovery focused on better jobs.
